On April 15, 2004 EPA issued designations on attainment and nonattainment of the 8-hour ozone standard. EPA also issued a new rule classifying areas by the severity of their ozone conditions and establishing the deadline state and local governments must meet to reduce ozone levels.

Among other information, EPA provides a fact sheet on the Clean Air Ozone Rules of 2004 and a table showing the final designations for the nation.
